my not so free, free time

I have recently become sort of a furniture re-doer, DIY project, home furnishings conoseur. Maybe because it's summer and I feel as if I need to some thing to occupy my time, which in reality I have none of, or because I dream of days where I can decorate my own place with pieces that I have collected over the years. Who knows. But my collection is surely growing. At college I had a desk to do all my scholarly work, and now being home, I was convinced needed a desk to do all of my work at. So I went out and found a desk from Goodwill for thirty dollars. It's originally from Pier One Imports; however, it's a little worn. BINGO! I get to redo it myself. Then I realized I needed a chair for it. After looking at a few places, I ended up at a different Goodwill and found it. A perfect Victorian style chair with a little pattern in it. At forty dollars, it was a little pricey for Goodwill, but it was the one. It's in great condition, the legs just need some help. Another re-do for me. I have been waiting for the day when I have some free time to clean, sand, paint, distress, and love my new pieces. Today is the day my friends. Well, at least to clean my chair and sit in it. This will be a long work in progress.
