new lengths

So like over 12,000 of you, I religiously follow The Daybook. She was THE inspiration when starting my blog. Once I started reading about her life and saw her fashion sense, I was hooked. You know those certain blogs that give you those butterflies when they have a new post? Well that's hers. We both seem to have this love for maxi skirts (among other things like pink lips and curled hair). When I saw that she did yet another post on them for Spring, my heart skipped a  beat. See looks for winter here, and looks for Spring here. Now, I know she's a petite girl, and I was amazed at how she made her body more elongated while wearing a piece of clothing that generally has the tendency to shorten. So like Sydney, I decided to try it myself. As soon as I put on this orange skirt with the simple white tank top, I knew something was missing. I looked short and stumpy, definitely not mastering the Sydney-esque maxi skirt look. I opted for a longer than normal cardigan and bingo! I had a balanced looking outfit. While the skirt may shorten my body, the cardigan elongated it. And the hat? Well that does nothing but complete the outfit.

See all these girls with these super cute ways of wearing their clothing. Try it out! You never know what you can concoct out of the clothing in your wardrobe.

What a great idea adding the cardigan to balance out the maxi skirts. They are my favorite!

Love the chevron pattern to your skirt! I love bold patterns like that. And saying Sydney is pettite is definitely hitting the nail on the head. I graduated with both her and Tyson, and stood next to her once and I really think she is exagerating on her self acclaim 5'3 height. That or I'm a giant ;)
