DIY gold dipped feathers

This DIY is a really fun and quick project that can add something to any room. I know we've all seen these floating around the blog world and pinterest, but why not recreate something so great and put your own spin on it? I got my feathers from my local craft store and when I saw the already made black ink dipped ones, I knew they had to be incorporated. So here's what you'll need:

>feathers
>gold paint
>paintbrush
>fishing line
>hot glue

Roll out some paper and paint the ends of your feathers. They don't have to be perfect or even since they are not hanging in a straight line. Since I chose to paint mine and not dip them, I had to paint both sides of the feathers.

*I would love to do a room tour in the future. I am going to preface this by saying please ignore the wall color/ wallpaper choices. It was a 17 year old choice. I am just choosing to call it character.
To attach your feathers to the fishing line, lay your feathers out to your liking and taking a continuous piece of line, wrap it around the stem of the feather twice. Hold in place and apply a generous amount of hot glue to the wrapped line. Make sure you apply glue on both sides to hold the line in place. Continue for all the feathers. Leave extra fishing line at the end to hang them on the wall. Mine were hung with clear thumb tacks since it was so light. Simply tie the ends of the fishing line around the thumb tack!

There you have it! Super easy. Hang it anywhere you have a little space or add it to an existing wall collage to add more texture and be more appealing to the eye. Have fun with it!
