a recuperation

sunnies: Target // sweater: Old Navy // shirt: JCPenny // watch: Fossil // shorts: thrifted // tights: Target // bag: Cotton On // booties: Target
This weekend was a doozy, a great one, but still a doozy.  A quick trip to Tampa to see some friends was just what I needed to get away for a bit, and celebrating my grandparent's 83rd and 84th birthday was the icing on top. Not being home for a few days tires your body out. I am not quite sure what it is; maybe it is the unfamiliar territory, the sights, sounds, and scents that don't seem quite normal. Or maybe it is just the fact that it isn't home. You can make yourself feel comfortable wherever you are, but until you return home, you realize how much you miss it and how worn out you've mode your body. Home is a remedy in itself, people.

Also, the superbowl was yesterday. Let me just say that one, I am an only child, and two, that I am a girl. I have never and may never (unless my man has a say) be interested in the great American sport of football. Don't get me wrong, I can sit there and pretend I am interested and know what's going on, but unless I have something to distract me like food (mine happily consisted of left over boneless wings, chocolate covered strawberries, and puppy chow) or a baby, I lose interest after oh, 5 minutes. That's just how it goes.

I am off to stare at my Ikea purchases I made this weekend, and make sure you join me for tomorrow as I will be co-hosting a GFC blog hop with The Life of a Not So Ordinary Wife and I could not be more excited! It is THE best way to meet new blog friends, and we could all use some more of those!

*wardrobe tip: tights can be warmer than you think if you invest in better ones. The premium tights from target will keep you much warmer than the cheap ones. Layer with shorts or skirt and you're set!

You look so so so cute!! I love that sweater-- can't believe it's from Old Navy!! And thanks for your advice about the tights, I've been wanting to try a tights/shorts combo for a while now but was never really sure how to do it....
