little girl, big heart

Ever have someone say something to you that just blew you away with how sweet it was? Well, I am blessed to work with some of the sweetest kids, that say some of the sweetest things (sometimes). But the other day, a little girl said something that was so touching, I had to share. You may not have known, but I pretty much lost my voice for a week because, well, I have to raise my voice a lot. Imagine trying to raise your voice, with no voice. Oh man it would squeak to the high heavens when I tried to give any important directions. The kids for pretty used to my squeaky voice, but one day I a conversation with that little girl went a little something like this.

I said, "I wish my voice would come back soon," she said, "that's okay you're just sick!" I continued on saying, "But what if my voice never gets better and I sound like this for the rest of my life?" She said, "That's okay if your voice stays like that forever, because you still the same Miss Amy that I know and love."

I melted. I was so blown away by what she said and how something filled with so much love could come out of a six year old's mouth. I was amazed at how a less than four foot girl had such a big heart, and could build up confidence in a person so much older than herself. Kids do say the darnedest things, but this time it was the sweetest thing. So thank you, little girl, for making my day that day and making my realize there are worse things in life than a squeaky voice.

a little bit of life

It is here ladies and gentleman, my first ever pair of flatforms. If you are unfamiliar with the term, it stands for platforms that are flat. Originality at it's best my friends. I got these babies from Go Jane online for a super steal, and I think they are pretty much perfect for any outfit.

More importantly, I was reading this calendar at work. This inspiration hit me like a ton of bricks and I wanted to share.

Knowing God has a plan for your life is very important. When things happen that are out of your control, it can be very discouraging. It's easy to become frustrated, to feel afraid, and to question what the future holds. Putting your faith in God's plan allows you to trust that the events in your life are meant to be. It helps you to make choices that must be made and realize that things are not really out of your control - they are under His control.
There is a peace that can be found knowing that His plan is playing out in your life. When things are confusing for you, remember that God is in control and He loves you. Trust him and His plans.

I hope this gives you hope like it did me. He has our life under control.
Thanks so much for your prayers and thoughts while I am sick. THAT is why I blog. Because the love of strangers really makes me believe that good really does exist.
The good thing about being sick? You get to catch up on your favorite blogs. The bad thing about being sick? You're sick. Hope your Thursday is filled with love!

sick

I should be giving you an outfit post, a giveaway, or something funny to read. But it seems the funny bone in my body is malfunctioning, along with my health. My achy shoulders and sore throat to be exact. What I should be doing? Sleeping. What I am doing? Going to work. I wonder how a day full of screaming kids at a skate rink and my sickness will mix? I guess we'll find out. I just don't have time for this bug. And by bug I mean the worst kind, like a spider or something.

Prayers and thoughts are appreciated!
