the birds and the bees of clothing

top: Old Navy // skirt: c/o eShakti // bee necklace: Fossil // wood necklace: vintage // watch: Fossil // purse: Fossil // shoes: Lauren Conrad via Kohls
Man, it's already Wednesday? This one's going to have to be super quick because I am sitting here in class trying to put this post together. A, because my eye lids would not stay open to accommodate another minute of being on the bright computer last night and B, because I really wanted to show you guys this skirt from eShakti, an absolute favorite of mine. The fabric is amazing and these simple embroidered birds are just the cutest. I can see this being a staple of mine in the summertime (maybe with tanner legs?). I know that's what you all are thinking. You may remember THIS dress. You know, the ones with the owls and bows? Seems I have quite an obsession with anything that has animals on it. If it has an animal on it, I will probably like it and buy it. Unless its a spider or something. Kill me when spider shirts become popular. This obsession probably stems from my childhood dreams of becoming a veterinarian and darn you Sarah McLachlan for squashing those dreams from the moment I saw your sad commercials!

However, I think you should head on over there and get a couple customized pieces for yourself. Add some pockets, lengthen the hemline, or shorten the sleeves. You cannot go wrong, I promise. Also, they are having a fab sale that ends today! Buy one get one half off (and you all know I love a great deal).

Hope your week is flying by as fast as mine!

You know when you try something on in the store and it just doesn't look that great on you, or you think, well maybe if I try it on when I get home, it will look better? When you get home, it still doesn't look the way you think it should, does it? I know I've done that plenty of times when dresses just don't fit the way they are supposed to.

When eShakti contacted me to try one of their dresses, I was a bit nervous. Measuring my waist and customizing my dress exactly how I wanted it, I just kept thinking in the back of my mind how I wasn't sure how it would turn out and did not know if it would fit my body the way I wanted to it. I customized the sleeves and length of the dress to my liking. Aren't the owls and bows just so cute?!

The result? I adore this dress. I've never (I mean never) had a dress that fits me this well. Hugs my waist like a glove while letting enough room for my arms to move around. Also, the fabric is so rich and you can just tell that it will last me for a long time to come, so don't be surprised if you see this dress around a few times!
