taking on kids

Dress: thrifted headwrap: scrap lace sunglasses: Steve Madden belt: came w/ other dress bracelet: DIY shoes: Target
I have been a camp counselor for quite some time, and over the years, you see the same things over and over again. Truthfully, I've gotten pretty good at it. I can tell what a child is going to say just by the look on their face. Here are some prime examples of what I hear for eight hours a day.

(insert Miss Amy before every line)
"I'm thirsty"
"I have to go to the bathroom"
"can you open this?"
"he pushed me"
"they said I wasn't their friend anymore"
"this is stupid"
"I don't feel good"
"my friend doesn't feel good"
"can I go home?"
"when are we going outside?"
"can we play our DS's?"
"what are we doing next"
"where are we going now?"
"can we play dodge ball?"
"I have an itch"
"but why?"

There could quite possibly be a thousand more things I could add to the list. But the best line ever is:

"you're my favorite"

They sure do know how to win a heart over. Even if the next second they are pulling some one by their hair.

I really love your headband. And I think the worst question in the world is "but why"? :)

Haha! Love it! After being a nanny for 10 months, I have heard all of these over and over and over and over! Then add in a bunch of screaming and cuss words. (Them, not me! Well... the screaming maybe! :)

So cute! What age group do you do for the camp? I teach 15-17 year olds and so I hear alot of this stuff ("this is stupid") all the time and I can totally relate. Kids are the worst/ best ever. By the way I am loving your style. You are so adorable! Just found your blog and have loved getting to know you better. I'm excited to follow along!

I work with the 5-8 year olds! Such a cute age. Curiosity gets the best of them most of the time.
