tick tock

You guys, today is the first day of my sophomore year of college. I'm not sure what is weirder, that, or the fact that I'm almost twenty. I guess they kind of go together, but I can't just believe how time has flown. This time around is so different. My freshman year, just about a year ago, I was down in Ft. Myers. Such a change happened in my life, I was on my own; I had to motivate myself to do everything that I needed. This year, I am doing a semester at my community college turned state college, and the difference in the feeling from last year to this year is incomparable. I am not quite prepared (getting my books the last possible day) and it just feels like any other day to me. Books and studying don't seem like the things that are going to occupy my time...yet.

Getting back into the swing of things will come naturally, but there is just something about today, the first day of another year of school, that just seems surreal. Preparing myself for how fast time is moving is scary, and almost impossible. Passing out the window, the days are done faster and faster. You would think that the first day of your sophomore year of college wouldn't seem so big, but I guess it is big for a different reason. I am growing up. It's as simple as that. Does it feel any different? No. Am I ready for it? As much as I can be.

I guess I just needed to remind myself that time waits for no one. Even in those moments where I want to freeze it, the clock keeps on ticking. The future is happening people, and it will happen sooner than we think.

Anyone else wish time would slow down a bit?

Cute, cute outfit! How long ago did you get this skirt and scarf? (I looked at target.com and I cannot figure out their website for whatever reason, maybe I am having a serious blonde moment) I am thinking it would be a perfect outfit for my casual birthday dinner this week! :) Thank you!

Liz, thanks so much for your sweet words. I wish I could help, but the skirt I found on sale at my local Target for $7.48, and the scarf I found on sale online for $5.24. So maybe if you visit your local target there will be some great steals similar to this!

I got a huge smile on my face when I read your post because, yes! I wish time would slow down. But HOLY cow my sophomore year of college was eight years ago. Just, just crazy.

What a fun time of life you're in! And I love that you're obviously enjoying it and not wanting to go by too quickly. Even when I was in college--and I LOVED college--I was always itching for what was next. It's so great that you're focusing on where you are, even if it feels surreal.

And doing it with SUCH style! I really like your skirt and necklaces!

Good luck with school!
